Reverend Lauren Kuratko

RECTOR

lauren@gracehastings.org

Lauren’s ministry focuses on deepening people’s relationships with God, hopefully growing and having fun along the way. She has a penchant for developing new ministries for families, children, and youth often through intergenerational activities and programming.  She loves ‘pastoral care’, and invites folks every week to join her for a cup of tea or walk on the Aqueduct to listen to what is going on in their lives. As a trained spiritual director, she delights in conversations about where people see God active in their life, with a particular focus on small and large changes that make jobs and careers more meaningful.

Lauren grew up in Alabama, and most of her family still resides there. She graduated from Rhodes College with a BA in Religious Studies and Psychology, and Virginia Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity. Lauren has multiple clergy in her family: her mother is a retired Episcopal priest. Lauren is part of a clergy couple: her husband Ryan is a talented Episcopal priest, who serves as the Religious Life Adviser at Columbia University and the Episcopal Campus Chaplain for Harlem, Uptown and the Bronx.

Lauren and Ryan have three boys: Wystan, Simeon, and Yeats. Lauren enjoys yoga, cooking, hiking with her family, and cheering for Auburn football.

Her most important job is currently being a full time stay at home mom to her three children Liliana(5), Casiano(3) and Giulia(1) but in her “spare” hours she works part time as a Data Specialist for CCCW, while running her own freelance photography business.
